I have a red 1972 454 convertible, p/b, p/w, p/s. a/c, rear defrost, tilt steering only 56K original miles, any idea what it is worth? Also does any one know the production information on these options? Is this a "rare" combination?

My friend bought a car just like that last year , no rear defroster though , but original color and a 4 speed for 16000 . Beautiful car . Everything works , too . I was jealous . If you want a lot of money , you have to sell to someone with little knowledge . ( like me , when I bought mine)
Photos on the way. The original paint was white, with a 4 speed, #'s matching, complete frame off restoration by a NCRS judge.

I also thought that changing the color would affect the overall value, but if a NCRS judge did the frame off restoration and changed the color, I would assume that it really doesn't matter. Perhaps the condition/quality of the paint is more important.

That would be nice....do you think the Corvette market will maintain these kind of prices for original LS5 4 speed A/C Convertibles over the next year?

hard to say about the next year with the economy like it is but i think its safe to say there going to keep increasing in value just like most c3s will. the chrome bumper years will increase more obviously. i read an article on c3s about a year ago that said in the next 10 years they will double and possibly triple in value. i know lots of us dont beleive it but look at the c2s. who woulda thought they would be so valuable today. nows not the time to sell if you dont have to. i know im keeping mine. i sold my last vet, a 70 vert BB 4 speed with air 20 years ago for 10 grand. it had a newly rebuilt original motor and a beautiful new paint job with 2 tops. took me 6 months to sell it. now its worth 4 or 5 times that. i dont want to make that mistake again. NUTSY.
Can I ask where you got the source from for 824 LS5 Verts built in '72.
Chris, NCRS 53-72 corvette pocket spec guide shows 824 BB convertibles built. 3089 BB coupes. 3913 BB total built.
72 broken down into coupes/verts/total vs previous yrs production only. Interesting read as i only picked mine up at winter regionals.
I have a 72 BB coupe thast I picked up 1 yr and half ago. It has been in garage for the last 20 yrs. 1 ownr 72k on it, orig motor/trans came with it. It has the motor out, and a few pieces are missing lile the front grilles and the door panel. But it is real BB, their is a W is the serial and the engine has the vin on it. It is Targa Blue(979) with the 412 Int. It has power windows, factory a/c, rear sway bar, the orig spare is on it, but dry rotted. A f70-15 Good Year PolyGlass. It needs paint, but the birdcage looks good. Not sure what to do with it, to good a deal to pass up. Without pics, what do you guys think it is worth?
