The shot of your two vette in the garage looked suspiciously like it was taken at a LV home. Then I saw your plates, Nevada. Good to see someone else on the forum from the area.
Today I removed both doors, completely disassembled the insides of both, pretty easy actually, blasted most of the parts and cleaned the windows, will look into cleaning the power window motors. Ordered new parts, (seems like I am always doing that) to rebuild them with. Pics will follow
Well today I tore down, blasted and painted the seat frames, quite a bit of work, especially sandblasting (time consuming) but it was worth the effort and I will get most of my chrome and polished pieces back tomorrow, along with my door panels. I will post photos then.
I got most of the chrome and polished pieces back from Odgen Chrome today and I was real happy with the work they did, they look as good or better than new!! They did a fantastic job getting the scratches out and then did a great job of polishing. Here is a pic of some of the pieces. When I get the front and rear bumpers back I will send them to be chromed also.

Thats not a problem JIM!!!! A little blast, then some glass laid in, and some seam sealer..Todays type stuff.. even urethane will take care of that.. Definitly dont make a mountain out of a mole hill... Usually this is where the frame needs to come off!!!!!Just kidding... My 71 is almost redy for the paint shop, but kids and kash soon leave the house... Im going to stay tuned!! joey
You might think about pulling the windshield out and looking a little closer. Hopefully you have seen the worse already.
I have been there on a 71 coupe, a 73 convertible, and a 72 coupe. Get the windshield out and see what you really have to deal with. Easier (and safer) now than after painting the car.
Here are some other pics of the car minus the doors, the inner and outer door panels, (blasted) and the tail light assemblies and the glove box and battery areas (painted). I am going to try a chemical stripper on the rest of the car as the doors were to raw when I had them blasted as an experiment. The blaster is down for a broken foot petal switch.

Well when I get back from work I am finally going to start stripping the paint off this thing, seems like I got everything else done, just kidding, there is always something else. I will take pics as I go.
I unplugged the wiring and pulled it through before I removed the door. After I pulled the door, just put the door on the work bench and started to tear it apart, you might want to scribe some marks where the hindges go and keep track of the shims.Be careful when you take the window regulator apart as it is under tension by the spring on the regulator.Other than that try and keep track of where everything goes, take pics and clean all the parts and relube, and replace the worn out parts. An assembly manual REALLY helps. I use mine A LOT!!!

Thanks - I'll wait until my manual arrives to tackle this job!
Started stripping the t-tops and it is time consuming and a bit messy, not bad though, but you have to put a few layers on then strip with a scaper and do the process again. Also I cleaned the storage area and painted it.

Since the shop is closed today I thought I would start reassembling some of the parts that are ready to reinstall, h/l buckets and acutators, some of the seat frames and lubricate where needed, ect.
