Differential identification codes
The numbers and letters stamped on the differential housing are
1AV 610 68 W. What does the 1 in front of AV stand for and what does the 610 represent?
The AV is 3:08 427 posi which is correct, the 68 I assume is for a 68 year model which is correct and the W is for Warren plant.

Thank you Alan, that makes perfect sense. The car was a late June 68 build so June 10th 1968 day shift build is a good fit.
wfo76, no it's a Turbo 400 car originally with a 390 hp 427 when it was built.
