Guys just got a 69 jack dated 9E on that auction site..............seems considerably bigger and heavier than my 68. I knew the base was bigger but is the whole thing supposed to be bigger and heavier? Thanks john

Hi AJ,
The 68 jack has a base of about 6"x4", while the 69 jack has a base of about 9"x5". I guess that's the most obvious way to tell the difference.
Regards,
Alan
the auction ended couple days ago and I received it today......looks identical to one listed now (the one listed now was the wrong date).......besides the base it's just "bigger", is the (for lack of a better description)..The part with the "A" on it that contacts the frame bigger on the 69?
I measured the base, and it's exactly as Alan said, 9x5.......

It would seem to me that by going to a larger base plate, they would naturally go with a larger jack. What would be the sense to put a larger base with the same size mechanism?Perhaps someone with a later model could clear this up.BTW what is the date code on the smaller jack?

Hi John,
That's just what the MF Dobbin's picture shows. The way the large nut on the 68 is 'captured' is pretty destinctive.
His picture makes it look like the long bolt is painted, with just the nut and the large washers under the bolt head plated. Not sure though, might just be the camera's flash. On the 69 only the large washers are plated.
Regards,
Alan
