which oil pan
I need a new pan. current one is dented right by the plug and i am tired of the leaking. what is correct for a 72 454.
i keep finding oil pans that say stock 4 quart capacity but the one i have on it now takes 6 to reach the full mark on the dipstick.
i might be able to save it but its just easier to get a new one.
will any 454 pan work or do i need a specific part #

yes i realize that, however some research has shown that there are multiple variations of the BB oil pan for a corvette so back to my original questions.
which one is correct. some say 4 quart
some say 5.
the one i have now is a 5 quart.
then i read in places about not clearning steering linkages on some BB pans
so once again lets refer back to my question. what is the correct number for a BB oil pan on a 72
