is it just the odometer portion, or is it the interconnection to the speedometer portion also?? the fellow who does the speedometer restoration for ecklers lives in my neck of the woods (west palm beach florida), his name is roger scott, he does fantastic work. i don't know if he will sell you just the parts, here's his website: http://www.corvetteinstruments.com/c...grandsport.htm
i would also think that any good speedometer repair shop in your area should have a part that would work. that speedometer was used for many different GM products for many years.
There's a used one on ebay for 35.00 from a Canadian seller who claims all is functional. Trip odometer looks to be built into the speedometer assembly so that might be why they're not available to buy new.
thx for the replies. the odometer seems to be working but the tripometer is junk. and since its all one piece, maybe explains why can't buy one. kind of frustrating when I had the tach repaired 1.5 years ago and its not working again. the local vette shop charged a lot to pull the tach and repair it. i thought they would've fixed the tripometer too along with any dummy lights back there. but no. anyways won't be visiting him anytime soon...hopefully. sorry for the rant.
The overall design of the trip odometer seems kind of cheesy, IMO. I have to push the reset button a few times before I get 0's across all tumblers as it feels like the tumblers are slipping in the gear during reset. One time after trying to reset the trip odometer I got all 1's, so pressed reset again and then got all 2's, then all 3s, 4s, 5s, etc. Eventually I got all 0's again.
