I am using High Performance Valvoline Synthetic DOT3/DOT4 brake fluid. Is this a problem?

No but if it would spray on your paint it will damage it. You can still loosen the master cyl lines but be careful.

Thanks for the reply. I checked a couple of the hoses last night and was barely able to get a piece of 032 welding wire through them. I ordered new hoses from VBP.
