Which would you guys rather have, alum. or plastic? I was going to talk with my supplier for plastic, but before I do that I would like to know if it"s even something you guys would want. I got the first one done and put on mine. Looks great fits great. I am having it powder coated now, so when it gets back i"ll post pics.
I have 73 which has the shiny aluminum front edge..but good rigid and tough plastic could be painted well enough...I'll be interested in either type as long as it fits and looks correct!
Amen. I found one but the guy wanted $$$$ NOS. They are hard and expensive to find. The difference between the 73 and 74 is the 73 has a chrome edge.I'd buy a good fake at a good price.
Does anyone with a 73-74 live near wichita ks? My car has a fiberglass front bumper cover from ecklers. The center grill fits mine great, but before I sell any I want to make sure it fits a rubber bumper cover car. I would'nt want to sell any if there not right for a factory bumper. I have decided just to make the alum. so they could be polished for a 73.
...I have a 74 Corvette and I only have the 2 side grills and the center license plate bracket....
Some states require a front plate, other states do not. All '74s had the center grille. For states where the front plate was required, the mounting bracket was shipped with the car and installed by the dealer as part of the new car prep. I suspect a lot of now very expensive center grilles got tossed in the trash back in the day.
Original 73-74 grilles are white metal castings and painted black. 73s have shiny front edges; 74s are black.
