Default Center grill

Does anyone sell the center grill for a 1974 coupe? If not what do people use instead? Thanks in advance.

Look for used vette parts. I've seen the grills sold by used parts suppliers, etc. The Corvette Expo shows in Sevierville, Tenn (fall and spring) always have many vendors selling stuff. I know of one "used" parts seller on line - CBVETTES at www.cbvettes.com. I'm sure there are plenty more.

There is no 'new' aftermarket source for the C3 center grill. Alternatives are Corvette parts swap meets, e-Bay, and some used parts dealers (usually advertise in car magazines).

No, but a '73 center would work with a shot of semi-flat Krylon.

Original 73-74 centers are hard to find. Good luck with the hunt.

I've decided to fabricate my own. I work in aircraft tooling, so I have all I need to make my own. The AIM has a decent pic of it so I am just going to use the outer grill to get the geometry and fab it up out of aluminum. Alot cheaper and kinda fun!

If you are successful...and the cost of doing so is not prohibitive...you may have some folks who want to buy your 're-make'.

What do you guys think a fair price would be for a good remake. I am using aircraft grade alum with hidden welds. They could be polished or painted. I figure you guys would now best! I am thinking of making a bunch for the guys like me who dont have another option or $500 to spend on an original. Thanks

You could sell them on here all day if less than $200...

I was thinking somewhere around that. I am even checking into having some made using injection molding. Of course they would be cheaper, but I like to have metal. I'll let you guys know. Thanks for all your input.

An inexpensive alternative is to use a front License plate in place of the grill.

I didn't know 74 Corvettes had a center grill. I thought that the only thing that went there was the license plate bracket? I have a 74 Corvette and I only have the 2 side grills and the center license plate bracket. Does anybody have a pic of a 74 vette with the center grill? I would really like to see it.

Found a pic of a 74 with the center grill:

These grills are very expensive, I'd rather keep the license plate bracket up front, and spend those $400+ dollars on the engine.
