Well let me see here i love the car but its being a pain
how many of you have cleaned the whole underneath of your car one day and tighten all hoses make sure no leaks and 
right good stuff for cars
Then on the way home your driving 40mph and all of a sudden your pouring white smoke out the *** end....
Well of course i pulled over and check it and another leak power steering this time i limped her home and jacked her up to come to find out the pressure line had broke loose from the pressure fitting just wondering of any one else had this problem and if you have
let me know why this happended if just a faulty line that would be great too just dont wanna put another line to watch it fail if its something else thank you hey pics upon request.

I don't know if this is the actual cause of your problem or not, but...
30-40 year old parts become weak and brittle (especially hoses and plastic parts). Whenever you mess with one, you run the risk of damaging it beyond its present state. As you are deciding whether to "fix/adjust" it or not, consider that the added stress of your [well intended] fix might damage it further. This is often the beginning of the "I just wanted to fix one little thing...now I'm working on a complete restoration" syndrome. The old adage 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' is a viable approach. Also, it may be better to replace worn/damaged/leaky parts that are not so expensive (power steering hoses, i.e.) than to try to get them to work 'better'. Food for thought...

There is a pressure valve that threads into the back of the pump. The pressure hose goes to this valve. I recommend replacing the pump and hoses. Flush the system. Some times this pressure valve will get stuck on older vehicles. I opted for rack and pinion conversion. It totally changed my vette experience. Island vette

That happened to me also , just as I pulled into Bellmore LI on friday night ! My tire was rubbing on one of the hoses , it looked like I blew the engine ! I got the 4 hose repair kit , just be careful , the hoses cross each other .

The prior owner or whoever had the car before looks to have spent alot of money on the steering.... it has a new pump new control valve new,, all new hoses except the one that blew but ill check it out again have already ordered the hose it was cheap so i shall see thanks guys

Look up www.borgeson.com and you will have your answer. I haven't heard anything bad about them and several guys have fitted them. I've even bought one for my '74 and the first thing I'm doing when I get back from Bowling Green in September is fit it to my '74.
