What about this one?

I liked this one a fair amount,
http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/1277625269.html
I first found it in PSL then the seller posted it in Orlando,
In my question asking phase to the seller I learned it had rust as up under the dash, here is that picture,

I like many things on this car and other things I don't like, seems posting it here for you guys to critique will help me keep things down to earth,
I asked the seller if he would consider flexing on the price because of rust and he says no, and said a vette savvy friend of his said all that needed was a coat of POR
Seems to me this rust is pretty bad and if it's got this then it most likely has more what do you guys think?
What would a fair price for this one be?
Many thanks
Cheers,
P.

Run, unless your gonna rip the car all the way down,
including removing the firewall.
and then cut out, half the bird cage and replace it.
here is what your looking at replacing with Firewall removed.

But seriously,
Something has to happen with all the cars that we are being told to run away from,
There is a finite amount of old vettes and while a rusty bird cage is too much for me to tackle some people do it all the time,
For example this 68, what would it be worth, we cant just call it worthless junk, it has to have some value, Perhaps a fool will pay the 12K for it,
I am not saying the seller would let it go for what you say it's worth he told me he wont flex at all on price,
It's simple math.
On the other hand, if you find a 70 big block in someone's back yard that has your birthday as the build date, the owner somehow still has the title, POP, and only wants you to haul it away, or wants very little money for it, then do it!
I've noticed you throw out several "how's this one" posts in the past month plus, and that's a good thing. Glad to see someone take their time shopping and hunting for just what they want. But make sure you're looking at the financial part of the equation as well. There are plenty of modified late model C3's you can find below $10k right now. Keep hunting and learning what to look for and what to run from here on the forum.
Good Luck!

knows you will have to invest more time and money into it, than the end result would be worth.
we are suggesting there are better deals out there.
Sure he will sell it to someone, ....someone who was not wise enough,
to thoughly checkout the vehicle, or know what they are looking at.
That is the great thing about this Fourm, you get the collective wisdom,
and experence from many indiviuals who have many years of experince behind them.

Doesn't mean I am totally green, I have been doing vettes over 30 years but know I have more to learn, I like to hear other point of views,
I also know what I like the customs/modded cars are not too popular here and harder to gauge their value,
I really did like a lot on this 68 and while I have the skills I don't have the desires to replace a bird cage,
But how much does that kill the price?, the car can't be called worthless,
Example,
My dad 83 has an Avanti 2, real close to a show queen, mile deep pearl paint, 400 SB
But the hog troughs are rusty, for what my dad does with the car it will never matter but for the Avanti purist that is an issue that needs attention and a price reduction if the car was placed for sale,
I post these vette I find and get told this one or that one isnt what I need I have also been told better deals are out there,
I have been told I can find what I desire for less than 10K
I would like to see some examples of cars that would be winners for me,
Here is my criteria,
I fully understand these are 40 yo cars they are not going to be perfect, and I want to mod mine out, Must be a convertible, and minimal rust, I would rather have 68-72 for the wiper door, Can I add a pesty wiper door to a later model?
The car needs to run and drive but can need tinkering and mods are a plus,
Less say 12K or below,
Thanks,
Cheers,
P.
