Shift Boot Replacement
I have a 79 manual Vette that I want to replace the leather boot. The fork attachment connected to the stick shift (Reverse pull up) needs to come off.
Does anyone know what is required to remove the reverse pull up?

If you need more help on this, I have a page for doing the dash pad but it covers the shift console and other parts related to removal starting at the bottom of page 3.

It's not really that hard. . . I've always found it easier to just pull the shift plate out of the car. You don't have to remove it and this may be more work than just going at it from the top side. Some will tell you just do it from the top side and this is possible but it can be hard to get the metal rim of the new boot over the bottom of the console and then align it to the holes.
