Hi H,
My guess is the little rubber bumper has finally dried out enough and fallen off the stop. So you're having metal to metal contact when the doors close that you're feeling (if you're in the car) and hearing. Maybe?
Regards,
Alan

Oh your working on the "slam".
Alan-what rubber bumper? I can think of a bumper for the up position but not one for the down.

If you meant that they close with a 'bang' and look like they could cut your finger off, that's normal- they're supposed to work like that.

If they are faster than what you have been used to in the past the mechanism could need lubricated or adjusted. If the overcenter locking mechanism is binding or sticky and doesn't move the instant the actuator try's to move it the actuator will build up more vacuum and sorta "wind up" so to speak and when the mechanism does let go it can be fairly violent. Hope that made sense.

I tired what you suggest, I sprayed the bearings, slides and the overcenter locking mechanisms, both headlights work nice and smooth, I used W-40 Thanks for the help !!!!!!!!!!!
