Very nice car, and the seller seems fairly honest( I never completely trust car dealers) he is at least saying it's being sold as a clone. Whoever did it seems to have put all the right "Motion" stuff into it. If it were a numbers matching car I think it's a steal, but even if it isn't, that's not that bad a price for it. And with free shipping! If you could haggle him down a bit by waving cash in front of him, you could have a very nice car at a good price. I've seen worse cars go for that kind of money
Just one thing....make sure it's COMPLETLY legit before you send one dollar. E-Bay is a scammers paradise and you should use caution with any big dollar purchase. Just be wary of the old" send me $2000.00 and I will pull the listing"
That being said, this does not appear to have the tell tale signs of a scam.

if your going to tell me about the spotless undercarriage, why don't you take a picture of it?
"original sidepipes" misleading, as they were not an option in 1971.
But if it is a numbers matching 71 big block, that has had a restoration and is in as good a shape as the pictures suggest, I think 30K would be a great price, as long as you realize it will bring top dollar in an un-motioned state.
There is no way I would buy this car with out spending several hours with it in person.
beautiful car but its going to get mighty hot riding with no a/c after dropping 33 grand on it . or is there a compressor that i cant see? but it does look great !
It does appear to have some Motion parts on it (plus a business card) but its not a full Motion car. Also, did they have that funky hood back then? I thought he used mostly L88 hoods.
$30k + is still a ton of money for a number-matching coupe though, so I'm not seeing the great "deal" without some more paper provenance to prove a Motion connection. Agree that I'd have to look very closely in person before buying a car like this.
Aside of not being able to spell at all, the ad is reasonably accurate by being up-front about it being sold as a "clone." He also doesn't know there were no original sidepipes in '71.
Sounds like it might be a handful to drive, if that matters.
I heard there was another clone on ebay recently that had been in the Motion parking lot near the building & Joel himself had actually commented on the car! The comment was not posted.
I heard it went something like this: Someone better get that fake out of here before I have it crushed.
If the condition of the car, frame/suspension, paint and engine is as nice as it looks in the photos, you would be hard-pressed to create a car like that on your own for $30K. Excellent condition '71 BB car....$20K; paint....$6-8K; engine....$5K+. If that is the car that you want, dicker them down to upper 20's and have fun!
Ask the seller if it has a traction bar (VB &P square stock type) and a vacume pump. If so, this car was from New Brunswick, NJ and is VERY nice. It was offered for sale a few years ago for ALOT more. Here are some pic I took about 3 yrs. ago (note the Le Mans gas cap, haven't seen many with a wide flange) although the emblems have changed from 4-2-7 to 4-5-4. If it is the same car, it is a clone never touched by Mr. Motion.
