Default need help with finding a piece

The part im trying to find is the weather strip retainer that goes on the flat side of the t top. it looks like a j and the weatherstrip runs inside of it.

I need this for my drivers side t top.

when i remover the old weather stripping the passenger side had the retainer and the drivers side did not.

Is there a different name for this piece or is it just not avail?

thanks for any help

Do you mean this one: T-Top molding?

no that is the stainless/ chrome trim that goes on the leading edge of the t top.

the piece i am looking for goes on the edge of the t top that is near the latches. it is about 12 inches long and it lines up and holds the weather stripping in 2 channels to align the weather stripping properly. it is where the window meets the t top.

not my t top but a pic of the piece i need
look at the red arrow

Hi73,
I believe it's called the weather strip retainer as you said..
I think you're going to need to start calling Corvette salvage yards.
Also try giving Paragon Reproductions a call. They have cars they've dismantled and may have roof panel parts. You're going to need to talk to someone beyond the usual order taker.Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

PS: A reason to come to Carlisle next week!

I am going to carlisle on the 29th just to look for some piece i want and to take some pics of cars that are correct since i have now found 5 wires from the previous owner that go to nowhere. dont know if he used a universal harness or what but i cant find where they go.

But i figured thats where i would end up finding one. just dont want to have to buy a whole t top to get it.

Hi 73,
I'm pretty sure you'll find some top panels that have been taken apart so you'll probably be able to get what you need.

Alan

You would not believe the difference from what your using and what Doc sells. They make wiring a piece of cake. I have a 74 diagram and I'm going to buy more in the near future if you tell me the 5 wire colors and their approx location I'll see if I can tract them on mine.

edit- here is a link to the 73 so you can get an idea of what they look like. The models are slightly out of focus for obvious reasons.
