Default Carpet Dying Update

The 2nd application is waaayy darker than the 1st. I'm using RIT Black on slightly faded black carpets...During the 1st app I sponged it on in a swirling motion....Wax on-wax off style.....I got good, even coverage , but wasn't satisfied with the depth of color.......Sooooo, I used a finger nail brush to bring the carpet up and then applied a second time. After one section was done, I used the nail brush to swirl the dye in, also wax on, wax off style.....Now they look great.....The tunnel rugs dried first so I sprayed a good coat of Scotch Guard on(again with the nail brush, wax on wax off), hoping that will set the dye , and obviously protect the carpet. I will let them dry over night and Scotch Guard the rest......I had to buy 2 more bottles to finish for a total of 5.....I'll let you know how it looks after it is all done.....

Hi Jeff,
This sounds pretty interesting! Are there any pictures?
Good luck as you continue.
