I bought a 75 parts car and thought all was good until I saw the underside of the hood. The nuts that are in the left lower part of the hood that connect to the hing has been yanked out. I don't have a picture of it but there is just a whole were it is box around in red. Has anyone else had this problem before? Is there any kits to repair it?
There is a plate with weld-nuts for attaching the hood bolts in that area of the hood reinforcement panel. If you have the missing pieces, you might be able to repair the area. Otherwise, you'll need a hood or the necessary repair parts off a junker.
If you give me the dimensions of what you need, I could make it for you. Install is up to you. Seems like an 1/8" plate with nuts welded to it would do the trick. I could make it long so it would slide into the stiffener rib, then pull it back so the whole metal piece would be inside the rib and spanning the weak spot. Follow me? Then just 'glass into place.
