The clips are the same for both window crank handle and lock ****.
The correct position for the lock **** is 9 and 3 for unlocked. That would put it at about 10 and 4 for locked.

If it is falling off, you are not getting it pushed on far enough to engage the retaining groove in the locking mechanism. Give it a good smack with a rubber mallet after you get the knurls lined up.

Hi M70,
There's a little white nylon collar that goes on the stud first, if you turn the washer backward the **** can't slide on the stud far enough for the clip to set in the groove. Maybe?
Regards,
Alan

The shaft has a flat on it which needs to mate-up with a similar flat in the ****. Look it over well and line it up to mate properly. Also, the clip can get 'opened up' to where it won't lock on tightely. You may have to squeeze it down a bit to have it "snap" onto the shaft. [I agreee with Alan's comments, also.]

You must have the flat spot matched up with the **** to get it to stay on.

At times I’ve had to put the **** on, place a rubber hammer on top the **** and then smack the rubber hammer with a steel hammer. This keeps from tearing up the ****.
