does anyone know where i can find the layout of the badges on a 69 vert.... 427, nose flags and stingray.... wrecked my car and the old front end & hood had all of the badges removed.... body guys don't know and my A/M doesn't have anything .... help please.
I can get you some measurements off one of my cars tomorrow for the nose emblem.
I'm sorry I don't have anything on the 427 numbers. The hoods were pre-drilled from the factory and the numbers were just "inserted in existing" holes. This is why there is nothing in the AIM.
We do have a BB 69 in the shop right now but I'll have to verify that it is an original hood before I would trust the measurements. Can you hang till tomorrow evening?
Any others besides these two? Maybe someone will see this from the bump and go out and take some measurements.
It would be best if you could get the holes drilled before paint. Then, there is no risk of scratching up the new paint while drilling them.
Dimensions on the hood numbers should be in the AIM under the "Options" group in the back of the book. Look under the engine code section. There should be a drawing of the hood and numbers with dimensions below in that section. My '71 AIM has them for "4-5-4", but that won't help you.
Jack you there-----------------> Here is a link I think will work for you. It is in pdf format so you'll need adobe to read it. I did not lock this down so you will be able to print it out. The stencil's were done on a standard sheet of paper so you should be able to print this to scale.
I wasn't sure if it was the same so we just made a scale templete for him and pdf'd it.
I'll be at the office tomorrow and I think I'm going to take this page out to the 69 and see if they are the same. I'm more curious than anything but it would make for a quick page for some one with a 68-69 car if they were.
Thank You! all for the help... should have some paint on that old vert by now and maybe some "stinkin badges" on Monday! hope to have the car (jack) in Monterey the 10th, for the Sport Car Championships,ALMS and Corvette Corral.... maybe some pics of it all?.. again Thank You!!!
