I just installed centerline convo pros. i went with 15x4 with 165/80/15 up front and 15X8.5 with 275/60/15 in the rear. I was nervious about the backspacing but everything worked out fine. Thanks to forum members Motorhead, Highhat, Fishndude, and JoeC427. these guys answered all my questions about fitting these wheels so I knew what to get.
I need to get my sidepipes and headers coated so they match.
Car stops fine and handle good for normal driving with the skinnies up front. I went on the highway fine and car doesn't feel too much different then with 225/70/15 i had before. I can't salom or take turns at 60mph but i never did that before anyway.
Looks like you're tread is past the rear fender a couple inches. Wouldn't fly in Pa.
the edge of tire is about an inch out from fender, the sidewall balloons out slighty making it look like more. these wheels only come in 2 backspacing 5" or 3.375". the 5" would have fit inside fenders but it would not of cleared the frame or control arms. I was afraid of how it would look but i went with 3.375". I actually like the look of it, it gives the car a wider look from the rear.
Yes, that looks sweet!! Did you have to use any spacers to clear the calipers?
No spacers needed. the fronts cleared the calipers by 1/8inch. The rears cleared but with even less space. These wheels just barely clear stock calipers.
thanks for comments guys. I wish it wasn't the end of car show season, I haven't made it to any shows yet this year. My buddies are going to race track on 10/17 for last test and tune, I might take the vette.
I like your stance alot better than mine and my rear tires are about 1.5" wider (my fronts are about the same).. I just installed mine too and I'm already thinking about changing again cuz I dont like the looks.. I see they make a Convo in 15x8 with 4.5" of backspacing under part# 5804 547.. What I like about your 3.375" BS on the 15x8.5 is that it gives it a deeper dish..

I think your car looks good too. You rear tires are huge and still fit in fenders I wanted to go 295s but in 15s they're shorter then I wanted.
called summitracing and even centerline and nobody stocks 15X8s in 4.5. they are made to order and cost about 20 cheaper then 8.5" but they take about 6-8 weeks to get to you. I didn't wanna wait that long so i went with the 8.5". I love the deep dish look too.
I took the car on 50mile round trip on the highway to a show today. I only went 65-70mph reving out with 4.11s. But I noticed that the front end felt a little shaking but only between 65-68mph. Didn't feel dangerous and car went straight even with hands off wheel, but the steering wheel felt slight vibration. I went up to 75mph and it smoothed out a bit and everything is fine at all other speeds. I made a few rips thru gears up to about 80-90mph when getting on highway and everything felt good, just vibration when cruising at 65-68mph.
I think maybe the tire place who mounted the tires for me didn't balance the fronts correctly. They used sticky weights on back but also hammer on ones on inside lip, but one wheel has like 10 of the sticky ones all in one spot????. I'm gonna bring them back and have the balance checked.
