Default Help them find a home (left-over part identification)...

The 1969 Coupe is back from the painters and the team that did the final disassembly can't identify several parts. The door panels were off as was most of the interior trim.

Need help in figuring where these end up. Pictures would be even better so as to verify what the screws look like as well.

May be that some of these are not original.

All but the last part (with multiple pictures) came in pairs.

I think that this is the door alignment part that installs on the door. I am assuming flat-headed screws with a beveled head.

I think that this may be the door alignment part that goes on the body.

No idea of what these two parts are. They look to align something or have a channel, but I don't know for what. The metal piece fits perfectly over the plastic piece to provide strength while the plastic provides a surface for something to move across.

This is the final part. Only one of them. Multiple angles.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

#1 picture ~ door Jam alignment block, goes on the door about 4" down fron the top,
thin side pointed out, it should glide over picture #2 which should be located about 4" above the door latch on the car Body.
Picture #3 rear window lower mounting plates, for rear widow insertion, to keep from damaging the fiberglass frame.
I don't know the other parts. 69VETT

Thanks so much for the quick reply.

While I wasn't able to assemble them today this allowed me to move on without fear of missing something.

Anyone happen to know what the method of attaching parts 1 and 2 to the car were? I don't feel any threading on the back side and wasn't sure if these were special rivets.

The parts shown in pictures 1 and 2 are held on with flat head, contersunk, screws; so that the heads are flush with the part when installed. There should be a pair on both doors.

The parts in pic 3 mount in the bottom of the openning for the removable rear window frame and serve as guides for the 2 pins on the bottom of the aluminum frame. The top part in your photo (with the lip), is the upper piece. The lower, smooth piece is the shim and goes under the other part. You should have a second pair of these to go with each alignment pin.

The last part pictured is a new one on me, but it looks home made. GM parts don't usually show that much evidence of machining, filing or drilling.

I don't have the car in front of me but unless I am remembering wrong there were no threads on the other side of the holes for either item 1 or 2.

I was thinking of riveting them in place if that is the case. Should be able to go pretty low profile to avoid any fastener to opposite part interference issues.

If you find a vendor who has decided to repro these, let me know.

I believe the last part is the female side of the optional slide bolt privacy lock. If I remember correctly the order code was either L-87 or ZL-2.
