Going to look at a 69 coorvette roadster. Well, the shell of a roadster. Has no frame, and I'm guessing its pretty stripped. price is fairly cheap but should some things be left alone. Are most of the part avaible and or interchangable?... Looked for 2 days on here and here I am still asking for advice. Restoring this exactly wasn't my intention. should I go look or should I stay clear...?

Parts are very available, new and used. Alot are interchangable. But you will spend far more bringing them together to build the car tnan you would if you bought a car, even a '69, already done. Its a commitment that will require alot of time, patients, and money. But if you can, it is fun and rewarding to learn all you will learn and to build just the car that you want.
no frame, no chassis, no suspension or driveline? you will need another almost total car for all of those parts.. buying those parts piece by piece will cost you deep into 5 figures of $$$.... plus thousands of hours of work even before you get it painted and close to even starting it up to drive... sounds like fun though.. but have it well thought out.. how are you going to get that shell home?
Hi Cecil,
I agree with 69 and Joe.This could be a VERY deep money pit to fall into.
I think people buy a body because they HAVE everything else. They don't buy the body and then FIND/BUY everything else.
Be careful, think this through!

Alan
I agree with everyone, take your time and don't buy on emotion. It's a buyer's market right now - take your time and one needing less restoration will probably find its way to you if you take the time to search. Even if it cost a little more up front - you will definetely save $ on the back end. Good Luck!

That's great advice. If you buy a project car, try to buy it as complete as possible. (Been there, done that)
BUT, if its a pretty complete car--interior, top, doors, headlights,wiring/vacuum, wipers, etc ,etc--, that just happens to be missing a chassis, maybe it is worth looking at.
