Default Possible Stupid Question

Went to change the plugs in my '74 today. I can't get the right front 2 (cylinders 2 &4) out, can't get my hands to them. L82 with A/C and headers. What am I missing?
Only have had the car 3 weeks. Haven't changed plugs on a chevy 350 in 30 years. Can't say how good it felt to wrench on a real american car again!!

Look at going thru the wheelwell. It's really flippin' tight with A/C. There are lots of us that feel your pain. I've got one each- one BB car and one SB car. #7 is the PITA on the BB.

I guess I'm no help because I changed my plugs with the headers off. I'd be glad to help if I can though, since we're practically neighbors. Shoot me a PM if there's anything I can do.

Either get it from under the car or jack up the right-front wheel and remove it. Only "Rubber Man" could get those out from above.

Remove wheel/tire and go in through A-arm flap. If I remember correctly the weapon of choice is this...

I GOT THEM!!!
Didn't have a problem, just walked away yesterday and came back this morning, had them both changed in about 10 minutes. Worst was the #2 used a wrench on the socket. Got both from above too. Thanks for all the input.

Its been a while for me, but on the number 2 plug I either used a 1/4 ratchet and socket or a box end wrench. Never thought of it at the time, but getting under the car would be another option to.

From memory, that is exactly how I used to change a few of mine on my old car, 350 with headers. Of course, with that car, the bolts holding the headers always seemed to work themselves loose eventually. I would realize it when I would hear the exhaust leak and know I had blown another header gasket. There was at least one occasion when that happened that I backed out the bolts to make more room, put in a new spark plug or two just for good measure, and replaced the gasket before re-torquing the bolts.

I had to do that on at least half of them. Even on the left side where I had to get a couple from underneath.
