Yea but it's not 5000. It's only 4893 and unknown 10ths. Kidding guys.

The other crazy side of some sellers. 1 or 2 sentences and 1 picture. Or sometimes no picture.

How in the world do they expect to sell a car!

No reason for the seller to be nasty, but no good reason for the question, either.
Vettebuyer -
Under your avatar you say your location is about 1100 miles from home. Are you sure it's not more like about 5100 miles???

Buying and selling, what a headache for both,

So for over 8 months I have been beating the bushes daily for that donor I need to start my Mako custom, It must be a convertible and I would love to find a 69 just because,
I can't recall who on here told me this but in general many people feel they must sell their vette, times are hard but economy is bad, when I sold my 76 I was happy to get 3500.00,
Its a buyers market if you can find a buyer,
so many people are selling drivers or just plan junk yet asking many times going rate,

I have contacted many sellers most of my questions revolve around rust conditions and you would be surprised how many people assure me the car is 100% "rust free" yet they do not know what a bird cage is or in some cases they dont know what a chassis is,
And this type thing goes on and on,

I had all kinds of bubbas trying to buy my 76 I had a barrage of asinine questions but never did I get pissy about it,
After all they dream of buying the car I dream of selling,

If the cars mileage is important to a buyer then asking the exact mileage isn't as issue unless the seller is all ****,
My 86 is for sale and I get asked the mileage and I say I "believe" it is right at 100K
No one pushed for me to go look at the odometer and I haven't driven it since I last looked.

My point is many sellers are way rude and arrogant and just plan clueless these days they act like they are doing you a favor selling you a car, a big reason my cash is in my pocket and I have yet to buy my donor,
I actually have two different 69's that I can't get the sellers to even answer my simple questions like rust condition and do you have a title.

Its a weird hard time both for buying and selling...

the next time a friend says "I will be there in ten minutes" you should time him. very few people get there in exactly ten. good calling her out on it. this type of rounding to the nearest thing we feel like is out of control.

Aw...nice poke...
the subject is being **** about exact mile in an ad, something impossible to be exact on if you keep driving the car after the ad is placed and don't update the ad daily,

You got me, while I did comment on the threads subject and I also stayed, sharing what I have seen lately with buying and selling still thread topic related to a large degree.

Did you add anything thread related yet?

Have a great weekend!

(do you really think a car would have exactly 60,000 miles? Get a life and waste someone else's time)

He was having a bad day, maybe he could have said 60K+ miles.

Most adds round the miles down and the price up. Never the other way. Go figure?

I quickly lost the buying interest AFTER getting their reply!
If I would have been there in person to look at the car then notice the actual miles and let them know that the add states 5K less and they told me ("do you really think a car would have exactly 60,000 miles? Get a life and waste someone else's time") They would have lost my buying interest right then and there.

I fully relate, If you did have interest and pointed out the discrepancy in miles and you get that rude reply the person must have other issues,
Like I said when I was selling my 76 on Craigslist the dirt flew market of the Internet I had all kinds of asinine questions and offers,
If it was really out there I just ignore it, otherwise I did try to answer it,

In my search to buy a 68-72 convertible 8 out of 10 sellers I contact can't even give me straight up answers to simply questions and then about 1/3 hit me back with really silly rude replies like "If you have to ask you dont know vettes" Or "You dont sound like you have any money"
Or they have no title and I dont need one....Wrong in FL I need one or a bill of sale and reg from a non title state.

Admitted when I see a rusty basket case base model in horrible shape and the price is twice or more going rate I will ask what I am missing just like I did when I have posted some of those cars on here,
In that case I might get told to FO
Or I had one fellow tell me he paid 14 two years ago for the basket case so since it's a vette it has to be worth 19 now even though condition went downhill,

My guess is it goes back to many of these people do not want to sell, they are forced to so they take it out on a buyer.

Wouldn't that end your interest in purchasing their car?
