Anybody thats going to change thier blower to a c4 blower, here is a templet for the spacer thats needed. If you print it out, make sure the center hole is 5-3/4" and it will fit perfect.

Is there a certain thickness this has to be? Any other changes needed? Thanks.

I just installed a blower in mine. Did know about the C4 blower. What does the C4 blower do for us?

It has a better fan design and more airflow (or so we're told).

Please let us know if you see a huge advantage over the stock blower motor.

I think 3/4 is going to do it from what I eyeballed... got sidetracked with a few other things last several days. From what forum members have said, the longer blower fan moves more air. I dont know if the motor is any different or not. My blades were cracked up some so I thought I'd give it a try and see.

Mibe is 3/4" and works fine. The closer to the bottom the fan is the more airflow. I made mine from black ABS 3/4" plastic I got from McMasterCarr. Don't even have to paint it.

Does anyone have a comparision photo of the C3 and C4 fans? My new motor from Advance Auto fit perfect, however it came with a white plastic or nylon fan that appeared to be an inch wider. I reinstalled my old fan on the new motor. I do not get the high speed when high is selected. When high is selected it goes to low speed.

That is probably your "high speed relay" malfunctioning.
Its an easy fix.

When you complete the project please post a follow up. I am having low air flow issues from a 76 and would like to know if this helps.

Well I for one, have got no where.. I got side tracked with carb. issues, ended up buying a new Holley, got that on and burned up my points in the process because I have the ignition wired direct to a battery so I can run it on a stand. So my dash and heat/ac systems are all still in a thousand pieces all over my work bench.

Same here. The blower motor was weak before I dissassembled the car and this is still on the "to get" list. If the C4 proves to be better, I'll go that route.
