Hi SS,
My experience is with 70-72 cars and there are subtle differences in the reproduction labels and the original label. There are differences from reproduction to reproduction, too, since there are a couple of manufacturers. The exact size of the label, the size and style of the fonts used, the width of the borders, and even on occasion the accuracy of the data can vary. I'd suspect some or all of this applies to your 69, too.
Many people just check for the proper code and let it go. I have my original; I also have 4 repros, but I haven't put a label on because none are 100% accurate. When I have the car judged I'll put one of them on.
So my reply to your question is ?????
Regards,
Alan
...Is it possibble to tell the difference between Repro and original Emission Stickers?...
Probably. I'm sure there's an NCRS judge somewhere who could spot the difference in a heart beat. You would probably lose more points for not having a sticker than you would for having a reproduction.

Repros are better than not having one. Of course they will look new and old you probibly cant read well anyway. if your orig. is still in fair shape, maybe a good idea to leave it on. Repros from a quality supplier don't look to bad.
also, depending on what you have.. the original sticker will have specifics on the engine as the car was delivered and in alot of cases, an authenticing factor.. If you replace it with a repro, kiss that authenticating factor goodby..
Hi Ed,
I've not heard about clear coating the label.
I believe that the label was printed on the reverse side of a piece of gloss mylar. Maybe that's what you're seeing.
Merry Christmas!

Alan

The radius of the corners is different on the repros, smaller I think. A repro sticker is better than no sticker but a tatty original better than a repro.-
