[QUOTE=HOOAH I am restoring it to original just as the one wqas that I had as an 8 year old kid. It's amazing how something so little can cost so much to bring back to new condition (so far about $2500.00 est).
ok.....this is good to know.....my wife thought I had surely gone mad fixing it up.......but you can't whine about cost for a little bike .........that is about HALF what it cost me to restore my HONDA 1973 KO XR75 I had as a little kid. My mother screamed at daddy for spending around 325.00 new for it. Now my wife is PO'd ....women
I'd share , but not allowed to post pics on the thread.
LS4,
Yep I'm preparing myself for the additional expense. It really wasnt that bad to begin with but you know how it goes I'm sure. after dissassembly what's one more new part vs. cleaning and rechroming the old ones. (2500.00 so far) but a list of many more parts.
Here is one of my latest projects. Took about year to build this RC giant scale P-51
I used to build RC planes before I got the vette. I have three of them. One is a massive piper j-3 club, with a 6 foot wingspan. I have a couple biplanes as well. Its cheaper than working on the vette, but it still costs a lot of money to build RC planes. I lost interest in them though...hopefully I will get back into it one day. I also used to build Nitro RC trucks.
I was also really into woodworking. Here are some projects I made.
From: I may be getting old but I refuse to grow up
I started this a while back as a driver, it got put on the back burner when I bought a new truck. I still work on it a little at a time as a break from workin on the Vette
QOQ LOTS of COOL stuff GUYS.....thanks for posting.... I thought maybe according to wife aI wierd.....
So ....here is my childhood 1968 Schwinn STINGRAY FASTBACK bike that survived mainly thanks to my parents obeying my comands "DON't put it in the yard sale" after I was married.
When my dad was still alive 10years ago , we took it apart , cleaned polished and every part of this bike. It still has the original paint . Put repro schwinn tires, the brake pads are even the originals. The chips in the paint ...well I stillremember how most got there...... is that **** or what?
Here's my other toy. I wouldn't exactly call it a project because the body is way too far gone to restore. Anyone have a real nice cab in the VA area for sale?
hello from michigan.. that thing is sweet!!!!!!!! where do u get your parts from? i have a 3 wheel harley davidson par car with tiller steering i get my stuff from buggies unlimited..
My buggy has parts from a bunch of different suppliers.. If my cart was just one year newer, it would of made things alot easier because it had the older "non" rack & pinion steering... I not only have a custom 7" lift, I also have a kit on it that moved the front wheels forward about 2" so I could stuff the bigger tires on it.
Nice truck Neptune. I just picked this 87 up as a daily driver. I will be piddling with it as time and money come, but for now just a driver. It doesn't need much, but I do want to dress it up a little.
ty for the kind words... that is a awsome truck.... what else would you want to do to it its perfect!!!!

Not too much, spray in bed liner, tool box (one that sits down in the bed), redo tint since it is starting to peel, and redo the exhaust.
In reality I would have liked to have gotten a project and put in the sweat equity myself. But I didn't have the time, money, or know how. There's no way I could have built this truck for what I bought it for, I coudn't have even done paint and rebuilt the engine for the price. I can replace parts, but never rebuilt an engine. I envy you guys who have put the labor into your projects. It may suck at the time, but rewarding in the end.
