The only time I've ever seen anything like that, it was mounted behind a pickup truck, and was used to shield bike riders as they tried to set speed records, or test equipment.
Looks real odd behind a vette................

While not my cup of tea (I prefer the sleeper look), there's a reason for what he's doing. Look in the background. It's an autocross course, not a race track, which means slow speeds. The slower the speed, the more spoiler you need. From what I understand, this individual was heavy into the autocross thing, and was willing to do what it takes to get some extra cornering and exit transition downforce. Like I said, not my cup of tea aesthetics wise, but it probably worked to a degree.

I agree! Never thought those C4 wheels would look good on a C3, but those actually look pretty sweet....plus.....you can get those rims for a song!
