Got to share. I am recovering from recent major surgery. It was time on thurs., to go back to the hospital for a follow up. Had to go to Hamilton, about an hour from home. Saw the doc., got a good report, yet more follow up and radiation possible. Know this is what followed. It is still hard for me to walk and sit and such. My wife walked down the block to get the car out of the parking lot and pick me up at the lobby, so as not having to walk too far. I was waiting and waiting, till about an hour passed. Getting concerned, I called her cell and no answer. Did not know what was going on. Soon after I got a call from my daughter, who was coming to pick me up, apparently while my wife was standing on the sidewalk, waiting to cross the road, a two car collision occured at the corner, one of the cars came up on the sidewalk and hit my wife and knocked her into a building. Now this happened only a block away from the hospital were I was waiting, yet they took her to another hospital across the city, about another hour away.So we finally get to the other hospital and she is strapped to a back board and wearing a neck brace. She has a bad broose on the leg, scrambled eggs in the brain(temp. we hope) marks on her back and a cracked vertabrea. So there we are, her on the stretcher and me in a wheel chair. We finally got out of there about midnight and our daughter drove us home. Now both of us are out of commision for awhile, but hopefully OK in a little while. What a day.
Man, that's rough. I hope both you and your wife make a speedy recovery. Strange that they would have taken her across town to another hospital, unless that hospital was better equipped to handle her situation.
Hi Sarge,
I'm really sorry this all happened!
It should be quite a sight seeing the two of you trying to help take care of each other.
I hope you both improve rapidly.
Regards,
Alan
Wishing you & your wife a speedy recovery....bad luck just never seems to end sometimes. But, hey...when that black cloud over you decides to move elsewhere...you will have a great story to tell the grandkids, and then you can sit back, and have a good laugh.
