Just talked to a guy in Walmart this morning that works in property management. He said a lot of the guys he knows went down to the DC area to plow.
They haven't plowed here in at least 3 weeks and no snow in the forecast.
Most roads are clean enough to take the Vette out but some of the frost heaves would be like driving over curbs.
I grew up in the Finger Lakes area of NY. The '58 storm hit us very hard. I have a picture of an electric company worker standing on the snow while touching the cross bar on the electric pole. Our roads were cleared by dozers and massive blowers that had been seldom used.
Our place was back off the road quite a bit. Our primary snow removal equipment was a David Bradley two wheeler with a blade and then a blower. No reverse on the Bradley at that time. Dad parked our '50 Olds rocket in a hole that had been dug at the end of our drive. As a rural teenager, I had an old Model A farm truck that was my off road rig. No body, no cab, no heat, but it always started. My brother still has it stashed at his farm. Memories!
