Default Order new top so almost done with restoMod. Here is where I started.

Bought this 71 Convertible, SB,AT Vette in 2000 for $4000 from the Charlotte Food Lion Auto fair. Since then It has been converted to a BB with a tremec 5 spd and 3:70 gears. It dyno'd last summer @ 383 hp at the rear wheels. I have done 99% of the work myself including full VB&P suspension, Engine and trans, Fiero seats, paint and body. I am not going to do the vert top as I am just not that comfortable with that job.
Some specs:
  1. .030 454
  2. Edelbrock heads, intake and mighty demon carb
  3. Jet hot coated Hooker Super comp side pipes.
  4. Isky custom ground solid flat tappet cam. Thanks Jim 427HotRod!
  5. VBP suspension
  6. 370 rear gears
  7. Boyd Coddington Smoothie II rims.
  8. Tremec 5 speed.

Before

After

Thanks to everyone on this forum who have answered all my dumb questions and future dumb questions!

Hello Wade
Very nicely done and judging by your skill level I think you can do the top. I put one on my 1963 Buick (yap that’s a lot of top) just by reading up on it. It was not all the difficult it came out pretty good.

would you like to share how much money you have in the car know to give an idea what it costs to restore one.

One of the nicest cars on the forum

some have been here to see the car transform

You've put allot of hard work into your car and it shows, it looks great

I really like the hood

now enjoy it

if your like me the work will never be done, always something that will come up that you want to try
