custom 69 vette
Not mine but looks like a good deal for someone looking for a vette
http://appleton.craigslist.org/cto/1606536073.html
If someone gets really interested I can drive done there and look at it, I did a frame off on my 69 so I know what to look for

IMO, any custom paint like that will cause a hit on value
Perfect example of the difference between a custom car and one with custom paint

Wrong motor + 70's custom paint = waaaay overpriced.

No getting around the fact that the car needs a repaint. That alone makes the asking price too high as "Vettebuyer5869" Steve said.

That car is worth about $10K as it sits. If all that 70's 'stuff' on the body is really tape [instead of paint], it would be worth a little more.

I just treat the add as hearing my father say
'Back in the day I could have picked up a 69 vette for $3000 mint condition along with other Yenkos and muscle cars"
Just saying that if you think the non original condition price is too high thats fine but try and find this same car in 10 years for that money! Good luck
They only made so many of these cars guys and with auctions like Barrett Jackson driving the prices through the roof for no reason the days of the average joe being able to afford one of these cars is coming to a end

All well and good, BUT this is now, not 10 years in the future....
2 or 3K for an average repaint and you're way too far into it.
In my opinion, 10K to 11K would be closer to a sensible price.

agreed except IMO, $6K
min for a full repaint
problem is its a '69 - no way I'd sell a fairly fresh running BB '69 for 10-11K
best bet here is to put that thing in storage for 10-15yrs and then sell it as a barn find 70's time capsule

Thats true I keep thinking they are valued as much as my 69
My point is that I do not think you will ever see the prices go down on these cars
