I'm looking to buy a 71 War Bonnet Yellow convertible. I went to look at it earlier today. The suspension and frame are immaculate. The birdcage is nice, was painted with new windshield. Here were the few problems: Oil leak from the distributer (easy enough to fix). The passenger side door is hard to close and has a large gap at the top. Also when you open the door next to the dash pad there is a big gap that allows you to see into the engine bay, it's almost like its missing a part.
Hi Michal,
Here's a picture of the hinge pillar area, maybe you can tell what's going on/missing on the 71 you looked at.
I'd love to see the immaculate chassis if you have some pictures.
Regards,
Alan
I'm sure it's not immaculate by your standards, but theres no rust, its smooth, and painted black so it keeps me happy, IMO you have one of the nicest cars on the forum. I'm picking it up Thursday so I'll take pics then. The gap in the hinge pillar area is a bit larger than yours, I guess it's not uncommon? I figured for the price id buy it, fix the gremlins and flip it to make a little money and have some fun. One day i'll buy my dream vette.
