Windshield Installation/Moulding Clips
I am going to need to put a new windshield in my 75 coupe when I get it back from the paint shop. The old windshield is out and the birdcage has been cleaned up and painted. How do most of you install the windshield(butyl tape or adhesive caulk)? Also, how do you get the windshield moulding clips to stay in place since they are not attached by screws?
When I talked to a guy about installing the windshield, he suggested using some kind of adhesive over the traditional method of the soft gasket.

the upper molding retainers are screwed into the header bar. really short flat head screws. the suppliers have them.
i believe that dot regs mandate that adhesives be used for windshields, although many c3'ers use the old butyl tape.
