Is it just me or is the C4 the worst body line design ever for the Vette. I do not intend this to be bashing 4 owners but they would have been better off continuing the C3 body style for a few more years. They of all seem to be the lowest priced resale of generation Vette's. The thing I hated the most when they debuted was that you could not tell the difference between them and a Camaro or Firebird when they were coming straight at you. Don't mind me, you still own America's greatest sports car and I am sure they are as proud of it as I am of mine.
It must be you, and probably others as well, although the C-4 isnt the most beautiful Vette ever it is not really the worst, personally I dont see how anyone could mistake a C-4 for an F body. I like them ( C-4's)as much as any other body style but they certainly aint a C-3. Peace,,,Moosie

I Miss my 96 LT-4. Drive one and you might still be of the opinion they are not the most attractive but you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face.
I think the only problem with the C4 is that the same year Firebird looks very similar. Kind of like if the latest Firebird was back in the 70's it would look a lot like the C3.

OK I will agree. I dont think they are ugly but the least attractive of all Vettes. My Pastor just bought a 92 vert with 40K on the clock for an absolute steal. He came by Friday and I drove it, I was NOT impressed, it is cramped, way harder to get in and out of, the steering is too stiff for me, the accelerator is hard to push, I am not a fan and I like my 81 WAY more, it is more fun to drive and is more of a classic.

I guess it is all subjective, but to me the C4 handling/driving is light years ahead of the C3 the same as the C5 is light years ahead of the C4.
The C3 is based on 1963 tech. The C4 is 20 years advanced.
Very true, with most of the design work being done in the late 50s. The steering system which carried through to the last C3 was actually in service with other GM vehicles in the 50s.
I don't care for the early C4s either- but can still remember how advanced they looked when first released.
The C4 may look dated by today's standards but it was a pretty progressive design for 1984. The chassis was a big advance over the C3 also. I think the C4 was the first design to really take advantage of CAD/CAM technology, although Cadillac was using it in the late 70's.

That is completely subjective. I ride a V twin motorcyle, for what it is, it is an absolute beast, I love it wont own anything else, I have ridden sport tourers, and sport bikes all of which are light years ahead of a Vtwin in ever way except comfort. But...that in NO way makes them an improvement or better or anything else, actually the sanitized nature of a Goldwing turns me off. I find the same thing with later Vettes, too sanitized, I like the "feel" of my car better in every way and see no advantage to owning a C4, to "me" it is not better at all, Call me old school in that way.
I own a early C-3, 72 and a C-4,96. The C-4 is more trouble to get in/out of BUT once in is very confortable to drive. Ive been in C-5s and C-6s , both more advanced than the previous BUT of the 3 its the ONLY one that gives you that Race car/ Go cart feeling. The C-4 saved the Corvettes.
I like the C4's except for the early interiors. Now would probably be a good time to buy one, drive it for 10 years, and possibly sell it for a profit.
I have to say, the major drawbacks on the C4s were the colors, and the lack of manual transmissions.
I saw some C4s at the corvette show this last weekend, and with fresh paint they look pretty sweet! Better, in fact, than the lone c3 that was hanging out- an 82 with the front spoiler thing.. it was ruined by a faded-looking yellowish white color.

Nothing wrong with a V-twin. But have you ridden one from the 50's? Compair a late 50's to early 60's V-twin to a "modern" v-twin powered bike. World of difference.
