Start at $15000 (hope to get $14000) and see what kind of response you get. We dont know what parts have been replaced or repaired but assuming in excellent condition as you said. A close ratio 4spd L82 is a good find.
IMHO

The 3385 is the number of close ratio produced not his particular car.

good luck.

Why would you take on such a task if you don't feel comfortable making that evaluation? The 'worth' is very fluid...depending on condition of frame, paint, interior wear/damage, functionality of all systems and components, age of drivetrain and chassis components, and general visual appeal of the car. If the car is a really nice one, he might want to get a valid appraisal done. If it is a run-of-the-mill car, compare it to NADA listed prices or Corvette/Chevy "For Sale" booklets/magazines. DO NOT go by what prices are being asked on eBay or other web site sales places; internet asking prices and televised auction prices are highly inflated. If you had more info and photos of the car, folks could give you a better 'read' on the car's worth.

IMHO: A little high for a regular production '78. If documented, the M21 and L-82 are the selling points.
