Calling The13Bats.....
Thanks for your opinion...but you didn't say why you do not like it...if you do not like it run down why...give some views and opinions...Custom/modded is a very personal thing,
It's not really a cut in stone type thing, customs and modded cars are made by people who want to be outside the mold, they want something more personal than box stock.

I agree sometimes if compared to the original a custom is a thing only a builder can love...for example you said you might paint your 79 Pink...no NCRS award for you...
...very few will like it besides you and Mary Kay.....most straight men will avoid it...
....I fully support your right to do that and compared to stock brown I would say your custom will look better....
I would love to see the two cars you felt looked better as customs than stock...

Here are a few modded cars that I find top self....even purists seem to give these jewels warm receptions...see what you think...I would never say they look worse than stock I personally think way better but at the very least a sweet alternative to stock...

Well Bats your assessment is close to mine, back pretty good, side treatment (overdone) does not work well on it & the hood/front bulge extending past the nose is a disaster.
Headlamp treatment looks good in the posted pics.

Including the part about "Bats" taste.
IF the car was a solid color and had a different set of wheels on it after the nose was "fixed" (that design is completely out of place
) the car would actually be a nicely executed custom (even though it's not to everyone's taste).

I was grinding on this threads car..several of us are thinking the same on this one...it already has a pile of toad pelts invested but...if a savvy body man removed the cake pan scoop, gave it a nose job perhaps using that Calloway as a guide, painted it something more flowing with the design, swapped wheels it would be so much more pleasing I believe....
