is the one from corvette central worth the extra $130???
anyway thanks for the help,
Steve
The first is for the stock radio with adjustment posts (volume, tuning, etc.). The second has been cut or manufactured for a more modern (non-post, square) DIN-style radio. Although they are different I can't explain the additional cost.
I took one like your first link and cut it out to fit the DIN CD player. When you cut them out the trim plate that comes with the player will cover any rough edges and the raised bump around the control **** holes. I used the install sleeve that came with the player as a template to mark enlarged hole location. I cut the plastic with jewlers saw. It is not hard to do but I work with plastic alot. I will get you some pics. later. mds...

First pic. shows stock bezel and Pioneer sleeve. You would need to cut out the bezel to the size of the sleeve. Stock opening is approx. 51mm tall X 109mm wide. We need an opening approx. 52mm tall X 182mm wide. I left the bottom of the stock opening as my guide and went up and out from there with my cut. Second pic. shows 1.5in. painters tape with .75in. backer to protect chrome on bezel. Third pic. shows masked bezel ready for marking and then cutting. Fourth pic. shows finished bezel with Kenwood player without the trim ring. I used jewlers saw, razor saw and files to cut opening to finished size. Trim ring will cover any small inperfections. The raised bumps for the control ***** are just about 184mm in width and may need to be cut down. I masked the entire bezel so as not to scratch bezel during cutting. I have more time than money. If you have more money than time, the bezel that is already cut is the way to go. mds...

I cut my original gauge bezel myself. Take your time to be accurate and it will work fine. I don't understand were the extra cost is for the larger cutout.

One reason the first supplier is so cheap is that they are not a forum sponsor. It is easy to have low prices when you don't put the money out there to support forums, etc.
Stick with a supporting vendor, like Wilcox that posted above, or us
The good Corvette vendors will be here tomorrow when you have an issue with your bezel not fitting, or you need to talk to someone about installing it. The cheap guys.... buyer beware.

It's easy to work from a garage and cut supporting vendor prices... But we will be here when the dust settles... We may not be perfect, and we will make mistakes... but we will be here!
