I joined the forum a year and a half ago because I was going to fix my corvette, but I have yet to start on it. It is a 74 convertible that I bought in 1999 to drive as a second car and the brakes lines rusted thru and i stopped driving it.The frame has scaley rust and both bumpers are junk from setting in the garage. i am hoping to get it together for the Hot Rod Power Tour but the funds are short.
I know....it doesn't make me look to smart does it.....I have not driven my 73 in 2 years and now the front bumper has started to crack and fall apart.
I had the same problem on the bumper cover on my '73. When I picked up the car in Washington D.C. it was there (but had some cracks). When I got home, it was gone.
Best thing to do is just dig in and get started. Do one job at a time. I think I would start with the brakes and anything else that is needed to get the cars driveable. Then you can still take them out for a ride once in a while as you work on them.
