Default Question on Option Prices

Would anyone know whether or not the TI system is included in the option price of the LT-1 engine? TI is required (70-71) with the LT-1 but I don't know whether you would pay the option price for the TI system in addition to the option price for the LT-1. I am writing an article and just want to get my facts staight. Thanks, Tom

There was no K66 option after 69. It was not available separately. You might want to ask the NCRS Forum folks. http://www.ncrs.org/

The TI sytem is shown as part of the LS6 engine package in the 1971 AIM. It is not part of the LT1 option shown in the '71 AIM. As mentioned the K66 option {TI system} was offered for '68 & 69 C3's. I do not know if the TI system could be special ordered from the factory, but it could have been ordered through and installed by a dealer for the over-the-counter price.

Hi Mym,
My understanding is this:

1970... full T.I. is part of the LT-! option $ 447.65
It was also offered as a seperate option.

1971... full T.I. is part of the LT-! option $ 483.45
It was part of the LS6 engine option, but NOT available as a seperate option.

1972... no T.I. was offered.

Regards,
Alan

Thanks everyone for the input. The year I am most interested in is 1970 and I think I have my answer in that the TI system was part of the LT-1 option and therefore included in its price.

I have an article coming up this fall in one of the magazines.

Thanks again.

Tom

Alan71... I had thought the TI was standard for the LT-1 and LS6, but could only find it shown as part of the LS6 option package in the 1971 AIM. That AIM does not show the TI as part of the LT-1 option package. Any idea why it's not shown there?

Hi Charley,
I looked carefully too! And I see NO of mention of TI. On the option page for non-illustrated parts for the LT-! option (LT-!, A2) I see the distributor is listed but nothing else???

Alan

Default More Codes

Alan and Charley,

My '70 LT-1 has a tank sticker with a column labeled "Option No."

Some of the codes are as follows:

03F62HS Front Springs
03G3ZEA Rear Spring

From these codes do you know if these are heavy duty rated or standard?

Thanks,

Tom

Sorry, Tom....I don't know or have a resource manual to help me on that one. Alan may have something NCRS related to help you.

Hi Tom,
Those are option numbers for the standard suspension.
I believe the 'Z' in your rear spring number is actually a '2'.

Alan
