Looks familiar..

So, this is a picture of my car when I brought it home in 2005 This picture (and of course the mirror image on the PS) was used as the stimulus for the forum to pen an "Ode to Bubba" . I started and everyone else added lines until we had the completed work.

Timeless...

Ode to Bubba:

The morning sun peers o’er the tops of the trees,
The weatherman said “expect 80 degrees”,
Garage doors are opened, the legends’ revealed,
With parts box in hand, my fate has been sealed.

“Just a few hours” I say to my wife,
“Gimme till noon, I’ll be back in your life”.
Simple words sometimes can be so prophetic,
When previous maintenance is truly pathetic.

“One or two laps ‘round the block” I did say,
Good way to get primed before working today.
I ain’t saying I’m saintly, but Oh what a word
I used when it jumped from first into third!

I don’t need perfection, not NCRS
But the things that I found are more than a mess.
A missing screw there, a little ding here
But how can you forget to install second gear?

I drove her back home and parked in the drive,
thinking I’m lucky to just be alive.
I let out a chuckle and tried not to panic,
seems “Bubba Was Here”, the master mechanic!

Bubba whos that! I have heard that name,
I hear he's a mechanic but his skills are lame
A few new parts I thought for sure,
but Bubba would have me spending more.

My struts were bent into an mess,
and no optimism could relieve my stress.
This project now not easy to be rectified,
it would seem as though that I have been Bubbafied!

I was humming' along one bright sunny morning
When, suddenly I heard what sounded like a moaning.
She spat and she coughed, she banged with a thud,
I looked at my friend who was turning to mud.

I rolled to the side and I opened the hood
cleared the smoke and there I stood.
Bubbha, I said with a snarl on my lip
how could you do that, I was ready to flip!

My steering was loose, the coil was dire
The oil was spewing and almost on fire
I was stranded again so there we were stuck
The tow truck arrived, Hey maybe we’ll have better luck!

This wasn’t the first time I’d seen his cruel deeds,
His signature is all over every part I’ve seen
My friend could have shot him, if he had a gun
So the only thing I could do was …run.

Time will come and time will pass
I know Bubba was here when I start smelling gas
Quickly I scramble under the car
To see if Bubba this time went to far
To my amazement what do I see
JB Weld on the tank, sensor and hose, all three!
I grab my head in disbelief
Thinking of a quick relief
Then I feel a calm, I suddenly do not panic
Since it was done by Bubba, the master mechanic.

Bubba oh Bubba please sing me a song
that wiring job you did to my car was all wrong
the blinkers stopped working, the wipers wont wipe
You sure have me wishin iwas riding a Bike

Bubba oh bubba please play your guitar
I wish you had not done touched this here car
the gaugues dont gauge, the starter aint turned
last week i broke down when the wiring was burned

Buuba oh Bubba please put that wrench down
last night when i put the key in it wouldnt make a sound
the tuner aint tunin, the speakers wont speak
to fix this here problem it might take a week

Bubba oh Bubba dont tell me no lies
why did you mount the shock in with those twisty ties
the car is so bouncy, it will rattle it will shake
To the end of the driveway i dont think ill make

Bububa oh bubba please sing me a song
the idle aint right and the timings all wrong
you tune like a monkey, you wrench like a fool
should a paid more attention when you was in school

There once was man named bubba,
His favorite tool was duct tape and rubba.
I find his work on every wire and hose,
Employee discount he had at Lowes.

He wrapped and he tied with such finess,
Only to end up with one hell of a mess.
Solder and heat shrink he did not know,
That takes too long and cost some dough.

Those used plug wires fit just right,
Only had to make a few rounds to get them tight.
Bubba I don't know what I should do,
So I will just say Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

The motor she started but something's amiss,
It sputtered, it spat, it ran just like $hit.
I opened the hood to see what's the matter,
the motor was there, maintained by mad hatter.
The plug wires you see, all in bright yellow,
were plugged in alright and in such a tatter.
It came clear to me that Bubba was here,
6 into 8, 3 went to 5, oh my gosh I wanted to hide.
He changed out the wires, I was in tears,
the first thing I did was drink 2-3 beers.
Once I was calm and had the right ones,
I began to repair what bubba had done.
And when I was finished, my baby ran fine,
and I promised her next time I'd kick bubba's behind!

My name is Bubba
and you guys aren't funny.
I did what I did
to keep this car running.

What's the big deal if your
strut rods are bent,
so what if there's thick bondo
patching your dent?

Everyone laughs at me
hardyharhar,
but you were the stupid one
that bought my car.

You didn't ask
I didn't lie,
but now you know
you been BUBBAFIED!

Hey Bubba, Why did you use a piece of motorcycle chain as a washer to hold the seat back on?

haha, some of these quick fixes would be great if your were roadside and needed a solution but I feel like some of these things were fully intended to be a permanent fix to the problem!

Sure thing, but Bubba doesn't make permanent repairs. All of Bubba's repairs are meant to last just long enough till he gets around to fixing it right! Of course, you and I both know he'll never get around to fixing it right, because he's too busy bubbafying other ****!

Deer Bubba,

Why did you hack up my wiring harnesses to the point that I had to replace them all? Why did you put a 69 rear valence on a 68? Why did you fill the crack/hole in the firewall with Bondo and nothing else? Why did you pack the passenger side front wheel bearing with lithium grease? Why didn't you put all the braces back on the front and rear bumpers? Why didn't you torque ANYTHING on my 66 when you rebuilt the front-end? It was a real surprise when the A-arm came loose, thanks!

I could go on and on...

I HATE Bubba!

Dear Bubba (brother-in-law)

Thank you for confusing the Royal Purple syn oil with the auto trans fluid because the containers were similar in colour. My seized motor also sends its' regards...

Maybe you guys haven't heard, Bubba has a great following now. Their called RAT RODS. You can purposely build one just to Bubba's likin. I have been getting customers coming in asking me to build these contraptions to Bubba's specs.
