Default Door Panel install question

Do you put the door handle on first and then install the panel or does the panel go on first and then the handle?

can't put the handle on after the door panel goes on.. just pull the handle out ( like you are opening the door) and the panel should slip right on thru the door handle hole.

You can on my '68 and you could on my '74. Trim panel goes on first; door opening handle after that.

Hi,
At least on 70-72 cars you can put the door panel on first, get it in position, and then use a small screw driver to pry the lever of the mechanism out far enough to slide the lever on.
Regards,
Alan

I have the top of the door panel over the metal tabs. I didn't like the way you could see down into the door mechanisms past the window with the door panel not over the tabs. It does take a bit of work to get it done.

Alan, I KNOW you have a great picture of this! You've got better photos of every part of a C3 Corvette than GM has.
