Default need tranny help

Hi, beside my 07 vert, I have a 76 that I have had for 30 yrs, lately the tranny fluid will leak out while its sitting, like for a week. Im looking for tranny shops in the minneapolis area that are corvette savvy and not rip offs.
Iv'e only been on the site for a month so heres another question,
what does ttt and bump mean. thanks in advance for any help

Jeff

TTT/ttt= to the top. Used many times by the OP (original poster) to refresh his/her post.

bump= a text entry meaning the same thing: bring a post back to top of the list as most current.

Anytime a question or response is entered, the post gets a new timestamp, thereby starting over.

BTW: stick or auto trans? Leak location?

ttt = to the top A good way to move you back into the high traffic areas

Pretty much any reputable tranny shop can help with these leaks. The pan, which commonly leaks, is easy and cheep to repair. The selector shaft seal, which common leaks, is a little less easy to repair in place and hence more expensive. There is a special tool for removing the old seal, but clearance is an issue. The speedometer cable seal, which commonly leaks, is pretty cheep and easy to repair. The output and input shaft seals, which commonly leak, are much more involved to replace requiring the removal of the drive shaft/yoke and transmission respectively.

Depending on your mechanical skill level, the first three are pretty easy to do yourself. The latter two are more involved.

Oh and yes, these things commonly leak

Check the front seal. AT cars will often leak at the front seal after sitting extended periods.

If it leaks while it sits:

Dipstick seal
kickdown seal
Speedometer gear seal
pan seal.
