Point is that is the furthest away from the Walmart entrance you could get. He wasn't going to the bank that has it's own parking lot. THere were a couple hundred parking spots empty, some directly in front of the store entrance, like the title of my post says " Can anyone understand this "
employees are often told to park as far away as possible to leave the better spots for the customers.
I see a respectful employee here.
On another note, dont be so sure parking next to the grass is always safe. At my office complex the gardeners often buzz the cars when they mow, not caring they are spraying grass and rocks at the cars!
Not saying that this is what the guy was trying to do ,but some people, when they see a nice car far off in the parking lot ,and they know why you parked there,to get away from everybody,he will park next to you to just screw with you, like it did.
My guess is that it was an employee who also wanted to check out your car. They are urged to not take up closer spots since they'll be there a long time.
My Wal-Mart has a McDonald's in it too, although a somewhat abbreviated version.
I always do the same as he did to you. Park beside the cleanest and best maintained car on the lot. The odds of my car getting damaged by you or yours are slim to none!

If it was an employee he was either late for work or early for lunch
I don't know I just find it odd, he has every right to park there, even over closer to me within the lines, just the fact parking lot was near empty and he parks way back there in the corner

I'm not in the habit of taking up more than one spot, regardless of how much I might value what I'm driving at the time. Besides it getting resentful looks, there are a few people around who find such as being condescending enough to deserve a souvenir ding or scratch...

Happened to my Cuda, parking lot half full, parked in the back row that was completely empty and took two spots. When I came out there was a shopping cart a few feet away from the front bumper with a nice ding in bumper.
My pet peeve are the tailgaters. Seems they have to get as close to my vette as possible whether cruising at highway speeds or in stop and go traffic. The biggest offenders are those driving pickups or suv"s. Seems like they have to prove something to themselves.
We were staying in a hotel, and when we arrived the parking lot was almost empty except for a black C4 that was taking up 2 parking spots. The next morning we came out of our room and the parking lot was full. Someone had written in soap on the corvette's window: "Small *****"
There's a red 73 with handicap plates always parked at the Home Depot I frequent. Obviously an employee.
He doesn't park in a handicap space or WAY out in the boonies, just kinda to the edge of the lot.
I ALWAYS park next to him, just to check it out.
Even though his car may not impress you, it does look in great shape, who else parks that far from the store, and a perfect parking job too. He's a car guy, givem a brake, I might have parked there too with my van. His other car is probably a vette, or he wishes it was. He probably hoped to run into you when he came back to his car, so he could tell you how nice you're vette was.
