A possible explanation is that the other driver knew that the right side of his/her car wouldn't get hit by your door.

And, you must admit, parking a C3 in the Wal-Mart parking lot is a bit like playing "Russian Roulette".

Got any closer up pics of this angle of your ride. Its looking great!

Regardless of what anyone says here about intent, this is weird, completely unnecessary, and I really don't understand it.

If it was me, I would still have kept my distance with parking, and walked up to view the car. It is out of simple respect for others property. Something the dumbed down public just doesn't possess these days.

Should we blame the parents or MTV?

I have had this happen to me too. I parked miles from anyone &
low & behold 5 mins later I'm surrounded.
I think it maybe a "FLOCKING" instinct.
Even at a MAJOR carshow,
I had to repark 'cause the parking person was trying
to squeeze me between 2 Caddys (50s era=aircraftcarrier size)
& I couldn't open my doors AND I've got Lambo type doors too !!!.
Some people dont appreciate that car doors NEED to open !!!
Cheers

My old car was an NOM beater, so I would drive it pretty much anywhere. Eventually, when the car was getting into pretty good shape, I had it painted. Once I had nice new paint on it, if I went to the mall, I would do what you did, park way out in the boonies with no cars around, but take up only one spot. Invariably, I would come out of the store and there would be a car on each side, and quite often, a door ding was waiting for me. My best guess is that there are some people in our society who just can't stand the sight of someone having something nice and trying to keep it nice, so they go out of their way to wreck it a little.

You expected something different? ANY time I've parked far away from everyone, someone has parked next to me like that. Welcome to our world.

And frankly, I don't see how he "squeezed along side." He's in his spot, and has every right to park there.

Its the jerks that park over the lines and bang the doors that deserve the reactions.

PS: taking up 2 spots is the quickest way to get someone to mess with you.

I also have played "wing man" to someone with a nice car when in my Grand Cherokee. The nice vehicle owner may not realize it, but I park there to protect their car. I don't, however, park my DD out in the boonies to do that. I've also stopped in at the store very quickly in the Vette, but NEVER EVER EVER at a Wal Mart, and I never will. I always park far away, and have been very fortunate to not have any trouble doing so. Yes, I'm knocking on wood. On a side note, I find it interesting that north of the border they are Supercentres, where here they are Supercenters.

He probably hoped to run into you when he came back to his car, so he could tell you how nice you're vette was.
I never ragged on the guy I was just asking why this happened. This was just a question, "I didn't say look what this azzhat did "

You are probably right, it looks like a kids "tuner" car and he was checking mine out, it is well known around there but those guys only get to see the bumper, now was his chance to take a closer look.

Like I said, he parked perfect, plenty of room but I doubt it was his parking spot as an employee of the Supercenter, where do the other 500 employees park ?

BTW there is a big difference between going to WalMart on Sat. afternoon than a Tues morning

You want to see more pics from that angle, well I never turn down a request like that

I've actually lowered the back even more since these pics

Sweet Pics and no visable door dings , I think you should look that guy up and give him a ride in a REAL car. His next car might bring him to CF.

Thats funny. I used to do that just to get the ire up of the guy who parked that far away. After all he can park anywhere he wants. And trust me I feel your pain. Someone kicked in my door in on my 70 Torino GT when it was way out by itself in a lot about 10 years ago just weeks after I painted it.....I wanted to kill someone and even went over surveillance video, but I parked out of camera range. But if someone parks next to you, they are just messin with ya and usually harmless... I am sure thats all he wanted and it worked.

A few years back, I parked my new Bonneville out of harms way. Walking back to the car, I see someone had parked right next to me, mild annoyance, But as I got nearer I see that a lady has manuvered a wheelchair between our cars and is attempting to get her elderly mother unloaded and into the chair. The process was to far along to stop, so all I could do was offer to help and stand there dumbfounded as she rolled her away toward the store!

I wasn't mad I just couldn't believe it. The norm around here is for people to circle the parking lot for up to 1/2 hr looking for the closest parking spot.

I try not to park next to junkers, cars that are too close to the next spot, or cars that are parked at an angle. Those people might just not care about the cars next to them or are in a hurry. In cases where I have to, I've taken down the license number of the vehicle next to me just in case...

At the risk of being over simplistic and saving a bunch of people that would have no idea why "this would happen" the trouble of trying to figure it out. This obviously affected you enough to ask thousands of people "why"? Or to "help you understand". Why didn't you just wait for the owner to return, since you know it wasn't an employee, and just ask them???

Hey Wayne,
I can’t explain the parking deal but I love the way you have your car set up. The wheels look awesome great looking car! Can you post a few under the hood photos sounds like there might be something worth looking at under there?

Never turn down a request for pics of the motor. Actually if you haven't seen much of the car I just had it on chassis dyno, I'll post the pull to 7000RPM's
427ci small block solid roller with AFR 227 heads, made 478 RWHP and I will get to 500, I have bigger headers to install and I have baffles inserted in the exhaust pipes at the moment to quiet it down a bit that I will remove
