Default 77 vette?

Can anyone tell me where to find serial # on the motor of this 77 vette im gonna look @. And do i have to take anything apart to find it? Thanks Posty, p.s. Can you tell Im new to this! Also where the heck is the oil dipstick?

You will find the number stamped on top of the engine block deck directly in front of the right cylinder head. You shouldn't have to remove anything to see it. You may need a cloth of a piece of emory cloth to clean up the area to be able to read it.

On my 77 the engine oil dipstick is supposed to be located on the drivers side . Mine is right up against the power brake booster kind of hard to see.
