Hi Gregg,
I wondered because the Delaware plant wasn't/ isn't very far north for you. I've gotten to know a fellow that retired from the plant, Lou C. (can't remember his last name right now). He VERY interesting to talk to about what went on with the Solstice/Vue they were building and also about Corvettes. Thought you just might know him.
Regards,
Alan

Okay, I get it now...you read them upside down backwards.....

350 190 HP, cast May 18,1977 Flint MI. Tell me your Vin# ....this is more than likely you're original motor.

Stay in tune....

The car was built in July 77, so the motor is date coded correctly. I have to correct and lower my earlier HP rating from 190 to 180 for a 350 L-48.

My best guess is... it is the original motor that was decked at the machine shop when rebuilt removing the Vin derivative and Suffix number's on the engine pad.

the one the i still dont understand is the fact that this pad is not there where the #s would have been?and as far as the L48 that is what the car is or supposed to be. Thanks a whole lot for the info, if you could help with this pad thing Id greatly appreciate it,,,,Posty

Posty,

Is there any way possible you can take a photo of this area? Try and replecate the photo that Alan posted earlier of his pad. If you don't know how to post photos it might be a good time to learn....but, in a pinch, PM when you have a photo, and I will post it here for you.

We can go from there.... with a whole lot of eye's looking at it.

After thinking about it more...you may have a tough time getting a photo of this area if you have A/C, as it is very crowded...but try just the same.

Stay in tune....

sorry it took so long to get back to ya, after further review and info, the reason i said there was no pad was because i was looking for a long thin pad when in fact on this engine it is short and fat, and I can barely read #s Like you can tell they were ther but just not enough to read, anyway thanks for all your help,Posty

That's normal for your year of car, started in '76 I think.
