Open Roadster C3
Have anyone seen a open roadster C3 with cut down windshield?
We have a 1980 and we are converting it to convertible and this option come up.
If we do not know where to go with it,
soft top - hardtop or open roadster
What would be an easier conversion, I seen some 68 hardtop for sale, are them different from the 75 ones?
we have in mind a C3 somewhat like this, we are also adding a 671 blower to it.

Reason: missing gramma
Its going to shake ,rattle and roll down the street.
I'm curious, why would it "shake, rattle and roll" any more than a rag top?
There is a local shop that used a '72 to make an open roadster with a cut down windshield. It was years ago and I never saw it once they dropped the engine in. The shop name was Southbay collision. I tracked them down after seeing a vette they did that was in CorvetteFever called ShatteredGlass, pretty wild paint job!
It was a sharp looking car.
Alan, my friend you have been cracking me up lately.

I don't even know if I have the issue it was in anymore, but the ShatteredGlass was a '80-'82.
The '72 he chopped wasn't done at the time and this was back in the early '80s. If I get down that way I'll see if he still has it and get some pictures if he does.

I was joking a bit but most that are converted that I have seen don't install the extra under dash bracing or convertible doors = shake and rattle......add the blower = roll..... shake , rattle and roll
VCB check some of the old road racer pics for an open roadster.

I did, thanks.
I think i will go with the soft or hardtop. Does the hardtop also need the dash brace?
I would think that if the birdcage was in rough (rusty) condition, it would be a great idea.
If you want to make it a true convertible, that would be quite a project. MANY years ago, I went to Ft. Lauderdale, and while there, saw a '79 'vert in a local Chevy dealer. It was a brand new car, converted to a drop-top by a shop called "Corvette World by Roy Sines". Great looking job, don't know if the shop is still there...
