That Batmobile was built on a '73 Impala, not a Corvette. Some people have too much time on their hands. I hope he's gonna do alot more fitting of those pieces. I see it's still under construction, but I see alot of problems with how that car is put together.
If he want's a Batmobile, more power to him. I hope he likes it when it's done. He'll have to give it away to get rid of it. Such is the problem with radical customs.
While I grew up a Batman fan and still am, ruining the great lines and handling of a Vette that way is almost a sin. It is his car and he can do what he wants with it, but I can still say
I'm sure that is cool to someone, just don't know who that would be. There is nothing on the car that cannot be fixed with the proper application of a BFH and a swift kick to the nads of the builder. wonder what he has selected as his "theme music" when he drives it?
Ditto. The rest of you apperently have trouble visualizing how this half finished project is going to turn out
Not true. I think it'll look good. IF he spends a few dozen more hours fitting all the panels. None of them seem to be in line with the others. I can see it done. It'll look good, but as I said, he better love it. Because a radical custom like that is hard to get rid of.

We'll have to agree to dissagree on this point. The copyright(or trademark, or design patent, I forget which) Warner Bros had on this particular Batmobile only expired about 4 years ago. Up to that point, they agressivly persued anyone who atempted to build one. Thats why there were no clones or replicas like there are of the '66 Batmobile. At the time the copyright expired, there were only about half a dozen known to exist that weren't Warner's property(props, display cars, etc). Lots of would be builders got Cease and Desist orders from WB. If you built a car that looked similar to a C3, called it a Corvette, and tried to sell it, GM would be all over you for copyright infringment. Same kinda thing with the Batmobile's.
Now that the design is no longer so protected, people with the necessary skills have been building their own. Those without the skills or knowledge to build one are more than willing to pay for a decent copy.
(yeah, I'm a Batman nerd, and the '89 is my favorite automotive design of all time :o )

I've been a Batman fan for many years, but building a Batmobile that handles and performs like a sick cow is not what Batman would do. Hence, the Batrod, version 1 and version 3. While they may not be to everyones taste, the were made to perform.
