My sympathies. Been there a few times. It never gets any easier. The last one happened the day before Christmas a couple of years ago.

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope he / she finds the big bones in the sky. I am an avid dog owner / lover (not a breeder) and my current dog "Henrei" a Brittany turns five this October. I can not even begin to express my sorrow for you and your family, as I know how you all must feel.

I've ben through this many times....and the only remedy for the pain is to walk right out and get a puppy (breed of your choice) as quick as you can!

Here is a pic of my little nut case....god knows how much pain I will go through when his time comes....

PS....this should be in the off topic section.....but, I feel your pain....no harm, no foul!

sorry to hear the sad news. there is nothing to compare with how tough a decision (and ultimately) an event it is. we had 3 old english sheep dogs each approximately 1 yr to 18 months older than the next, and went through putting 1 down a year for 3 years in a row after having them for over 13 years each. 2009 was the first time in a long time we didn't have to go through that experience again. it's really tough. my heart goes out to you and your family.
